Unfortunately, for legal reasons on the CCP's part, this is physically impossible.
The CCP is WAY too restrictive of it's laws when it comes to ANYTHING that involves even the slightest hint of true personal freedom. As a result, (for reasons too complicated to explain here) Minecraft: Java Edition cannot and will not be sold in China officially unless your country's government decides to change that. You should be incredibly lucky your government hasn't already raided your home for suspicion of using a VPN to access this website (unless that was suddenly made legal when I wasn't looking).
That's not a bug, that's a feature.
Update on the current situation.
After visiting Oracle's official website and following a tutorial on how to install Java 17 and making sure I did everything correctly, I can confirm that this crash still happens. However, this crash only seems to occur while having a video be actively displayed and seems to only happen BEFORE the loading screen even pops up making this crash far stranger than I initially thought. PLEASE get this fixed by 1.18.1 as it would help tremendously to of course, not have my game crash before it even shows the loading screen.
This crash still happens. A fix for this in 1.18.1 would be nice.
Link me a download for the latest Java because I've been getting my updates from Java.com
Still you guys should make it consistent, lots of people still use the old textures including myself. Not to mention it looks very jarring to see these conflicting textures right next to each other whenever you explore the nether. It's a bug, so it needs to be fixed, not ignored.
Note: I am only using the Built-In Programmer Art texture pack, I seriously don't understand how people could've missed this detail :|
I used to have a very similar issue to this one before I had updated my GPU drivers for my GTX 1660 SUPER, forgot what version of drivers this occurred on though :/
My current driver version is "512.15" if that helps at all.
Yes, I know this report is talking about AMD Graphics, but the fact this happened on an NVidia GPU tells me this is a game-related issue in addition to it also POSSIBLY being a driver issue.
